I shape the end-to-end machine experience for Environmental Care, Hair Care and Beauty: product flows, machine behaviour, the out-of-box experience and on-board graphics. I sit in New Product Innovation, where we define future experiences.
I designed the HMI for five products in the new HushJet™ and Find+Follow™ lines, from concept to launch.
Dyson’s most powerful 3-in-1 purifier, heater and fan, all run from one display and a small remote. Unveiled at IFA 2026.
The challenge was fitting three machines’ worth of controls onto one small screen. As Senior Product Experience Designer, I worked on the HMI so fan speed, Auto, heat, the sleep timer, 350° oscillation and live air quality each read at a glance from across the room.

Big rooms mean people check the machine from far away. As Senior Product Experience Designer, I worked on the HMI so fan speed, Auto, airflow direction and live PM2.5, PM10 and formaldehyde readings stay clear across a large space.

With so little space, every pixel has to explain the air you breathe. As Senior Product Experience Designer, I designed the machine HMI: what the display shows, like the live air quality graph and the current mode, and how three buttons get you there.

When a machine can see you, the HMI has to earn trust. As Senior Product Experience Designer, I designed how the machine shows, at a glance from across the room, when it has found you and what it is doing.
Dyson’s first portable fan, with almost no room for an interface. It sold out within hours of launch.
Held, worn or on a desk, it has to make sense in a second. As Senior Product Experience Designer, I designed the HMI so its five speeds and Boost mode are clear without a manual, and I am a named designer on its design patent.
